I was looking on the internet today and saw a picture that showed a union and pipe fitted to the metal inspection cover on the timing gear/dynamo mount case. would anyone know if this is to supply extra oil to the timing gears and if so is it connected to the oil gallery plug, via a union and is there a restriction in the pipe to still allow pressure for the oil jets and a dribble onto the gears.

I think this modification was carried out by Rob Beck on a mag engine. He used to post to the forum regularly, so perhaps he will reply?
