Re: Trailers and Covers

Perhaps driving the car onto the tarp and wrapping that way to stop air getting underneath?

Re: Trailers and Covers

Any gap in the tarp will allow the air to enter. The other thing is that *any* movement of tarp or securing ropes/whatever, if in contact with the bodywork, will chafe the paint off. Is there any particular reason why you need to cover it?

Re: Trailers and Covers

Basically to keep it clean by keeping road spray and crud of it.

Re: Trailers and Covers

I have a fabric fitted tarpaulin with 8 brass eyes. The tarpaulin is tied with rope to the car wheels and two ropes passing under the car. The tarpaulin is NOT tied to the trailer but to the car only as the car moves up and down on its suspension and it would strain the ties if direct to the trailer. I usually put a piece of masking tape on high spots on the car to reduce chaffing.

Re: Trailers and Covers

Nick, I dont think one of those would survive very long, towing at 60MPH

Re: Trailers and Covers

Ah, I thought he was looking to store the car on a trailer in say a garden near a road, not tow it LOL !! I've removed my post.

I will give that a "dry" run. Many thanks.
