Steering wheel spline size?

Hi all,

Just a very quick one, does anyone know if the A7 steering wheel splines are of an identical pitch/size to any other common vehicle of the time, just mooting the idea of something vintage/wooden etc to replace the wheel on my rolling chassis.

Regards

Re: Steering wheel spline size?

Hi Mark,
Good to hear you're making progress with your special (still the Speedex?). For a time I had an A7 Cambridge wooden wheel on my AH3000. The aluminium wheel was grafted onto a cut down Ruby hub. It may not just be the spline size but also the length and how the shoulder engages and a clearance with the stationary tube. I'd suggest you ring Motalita and ask, they probably have this information to hand and do make attractive wheels.

Hope off use, Dave
