Re: NFS caburettors

Hi Barry - haven't seen your name here for some time - welcome back!. Now that Stuart has reminded me, my Speedy engine had been fitted with an Arnott blower, maybe the carb was also theirs, but I never got it, so sorry can't help - but always thought NFS meant Not For Sale! Cheers, Bill

Re: NFS caburettors

Stuck in my memory from 20 + years ago. Is a maneto marine engine.

It's stuck to my memory because of all the brass fittings on the front with an open chain drive to the starting handle.

The engine was in untouched condition, and had one of these carbs and manifolds fitted.

So would it be marine, made for lower revs?

Tony.

Re: NFS caburettors

Just a thought, it couldn't be a carb made for the National Fire Service NFS, for war time Austin engined fire pumps?

Re: NFS caburettors

Or does it stand for Need For Speed?

Regards,
Stuart

No Flat Spots

No F****** S**t

Re: NFS caburettors

The NFS carburettor works in similar principle to the SU and hence has no flat spots. So presumably why they called it the NFS !
