6 volt battery

Just had to purchase a new 6 volt battery for the Ruby and wonder what you have to do to keep the battery in good condition regarding charging. The battery will not get frequent use during the winter. Do I top up charge it, if so how often.

Re: 6 volt battery

You need a battery 'Accumate' available from the A7OC Club Shop c/o Lois Raeburn, High Buckhurst, Mark Beech, Edenbridge, Kent, TN8 5NS. Price £39.25. Leave it plugged in whenever the car is not in use.

Re: 6 volt battery

Theres an interesting thread about this on this forum.

Look back to Nov 11th titled "night driving a banger".

Remember forums are very usefull as an archive source.

Regards

Steve

Re: 6 volt battery

A usefull Archive? yes once all the dross is taken out, it's finding the usefull bits that takes the time.

Re: 6 volt battery

Steve, what would he search for in the little 'search' box at the top of the Forum page, I tried 'battery charging' and 'battery .... ( forgotten now) and came up with nothing, 'battery' came up with 32 topics to look into, and I do not know how many posting each of those will be!

Sometimes it's easier to ask than waste time rummaging around....

Happy New Year to you all, see you at the Cambridge 'do' in July.

Re: 6 volt battery

Steve, do you mean my posting about the Impecunious nature of owning a Seven, the 'Eggers factor', etc?

If so, Stephen won't find that very helpfull.

Phil.

Re: Re: Re: 6 volt battery

Many thanks for the info. I did try the search bit under"battery" before posting my query, but it came up
rather a lot of options.
