DW3 Wiper Motors

I have a DW3 wiper motor (they are the last type introduced in 1937, not the pull and spin) replacing my vacumm wiper.

The swept angle appears to be only about 90 degrees, however the gear wheel inside to which the actuating lever works from has 120 degrees marked on it. I do not have a very good view in the rain!

So, has anybody tried moving the fulcrum point / pivot hole further from the centre of the gear wheel, and if so what results have you had.

The current c/c from gear wheel to pivot hole is 7mm, I was thinking of adding 2mm, it will fir, although the fulcrum arm 'teeth' will need attention.

Any opinions welcome.

Sandy
