Chummy Sidescreens

Can anyone tell me how the front sidescreens are held in the open position? i.e. with the rearward half folded forwards. Is there a catch or clip for this?

Regards
Brian Hutchings

Re: Chummy Sidescreens

Mine all use "Lift the Dot" type catches, available form Woolies. I can e-mail you a photo if you like.

Re: Chummy Sidescreens

Many thanks Ruairidh, I would certainly appreciate a picture showing how it works. Its a 1928 Chummy by the way, one of the first coil engined ones.

Re: Re: Chummy Sidescreens

Brian,I will send you some pics in a couple of days, this will show you exactly how it should be.(I have one of the original straps)

Re: Chummy Sidescreens

I am most grateful for the information and the pictures Ian, they make it all very clear. My sidescreens have the straps and there is a fastener inside the doors, albeit a press-stud rather than a "lift the dot" but here is nothing to attach it to with the sidescreens open. I can feel a small purchase of the correct fasteners coming on!
Hopefullt this will be of benifit to other Chummy owners also
Best regards to all
