I have just been quoted (trade apparently) £28 incl VAT for a litre of mixed to my colour, cellulose.

How does this compare with other peoples RECENT cost experience.

I see why you say RECENT, I bought some last year at £12.50 a litre, my local supplier in Birmingham is now quoting £30 a litre for a mixed to order colour - this was two weeks ago.

Is it correct that cellulose will cease to be available shortly due to Health and Safety concerns, I have also been told it will apply to two pack as well and that only water based products will be sold.

Yes that is correct, at the end of the year only specialist spray companies will be able to use Cellulose and 2 pack. You can still use water based though, biut as has been stated before on this forum, they are not very good.

How will this affect "hammerite" style paint in spray cans and in brush format?
On the motor factors shelves are several tins of "paint" not 2 pack and not qouted as being cellulose , these include exhaust paint, engine lacquer etc etc....

It would be interesting to see an official document or guidelines issued on the subject?

Don't forget the Lacquer to cover the water based paint contains the same banned chemicals as the cellulose, only the lacquer is legal!!!!! or so I'm told.

perhaps we could just use the Lacquer, and show all the warts underneath !
