Endfloat on 1929 propshafts.

This is my first message to the Forum - so please be gentle!
On my way back from the Bewl Rally this year I had a problem develope on my 1929 RK with the end float on the propshaft. The end float adjusting nut plus the lock nut had gradually moved towards the flange by about eigth of an inch. I think this happend because the bend-over bit of the washer had failed. The consequent noise on overrun was tremendous! Can anyone advise me of the size of the thin open ended spanner reqiured to tighten these nuts properly? I had to use a cheap adjustable one but its not satisfactory. Also what is the proper tightness of this adjuster - the Austin Service Journal says to tighten the adjuster then back off half a turn. But how tight?
Without the proper lock-washer in place I am checking the adjuster after every journey!
Best wishes, Barrie Newton.
