Dynamo Question

I am new to A7 ownership , as I have inherited a special . It is rigged to run and the dynamo is putting out the correct voltage . The wiring is terrible so I am going to fit a ruby loom. In the mean time I am busting to drive it. Question? will driving it with the dynamo not connected to any thing ,damage it? Rob

Re: Dynamo Question

In my oppinion no.

Re: Re: Dynamo Question

As long as the dynamo is not connected you should be OK. This is different to running wihtout a battery with the wires still connected. Search "dynamo" on this forum and a few posts down the results will be a subject heading "dyno's and dizzies" in here somewere is the electrical reason why the above applies.

Regards

Steve

Re: Dynamo Question

Thanks, for comments. I drove it today! I use the term loosely. I survived a short run. I WILL read up on making brakes work! the dynamo seems fine.. Rob.
