About 6 or 7 months ago I dismantled my magneto engine CAV DFL dynamo to get the end plate welded up. It had cracked in the usual place. To do this I had to dismantle the whole brush assembly. When I put it back together today could I find the sketch that I'd made - could I hell!

Can anyone either email me (or post here if you're clever enough) two or three photos of the assembled brush holding end - that'll show me what I need to do.

This was actually quite hard to take a photo of, lots out of focus!

One in the car shot and two of a spare, let me know if they are not good enough and I'll try again tomorrow when it is light.

Charles, Did you notice the positions of any washers and felt seals when you had the dynamo apart?

Not in too much detail.

I've modified it to replace the felt seal with a modern lip seal. I'll report back if it works.
