Just before I start !
Has anyone converted or thought about adapting one of these charger units down to 6 volts ?

I am sure there is a way and ex[plore further if not....

The spec I find online for this are very vague.
The best way to charge a battery is using a pulse which I find no mention of so it probably is just a voltage regulator.
Many of these units use a chip that is preprogrammed to 12 volts so I don't know if you could change the output voltage.
There may be some other ways of doing this like forget the charge regulator and make your own. Let me know if you need some help with this

Thanks I feel a very serious project coming on !

Of course you could always convert the car to 12v, then your CD player, Radio, Sat. nav. and mobile phone recharging will all be easy and no need to alter the 12v solar panels.

Just a thought !

No I think the conversion from 12 to 6 is required with auto protect and over load cut off.
