Pytchley Sunroof

Does anyone know what the sealant was that Austins used to bed the Pytchley Sunroof to the body shell roof apperture, as fiited to Rubies?

I have just removed the complete sunroof assembly and it looks like this has never been disturbed, so the sealant (still flexible in places) is likely to be the original fitted at the factory.

I would quite like to use a similar sealant so that the sunroof assembly sits properly and also if it has a similar characteristic to the original & so will enable this to be readily removed later on in the vehicle's life if need be.

A silicone sealant would probably have a better performance - but it may prove difficult to remove at a later date (I am hoping not to have to do it to this car again!).

Any thoughts?

Gary

The stuff you are after is Dum Dum sealing compound. Have a look at:

Its available at most of the usual old car parts suppliers.
