Just finished restoring a 1927 Austin 7 Chummy

Here are a couple of links to before and After Photos of an 1927 Austin 7 Chummy which was finished this year. I previously restored a 1929 Austin 7 Top Hat fashioned after the one my Father had when I was a boy. There is a story on here of that car called "My Father's First Car". I found this car in my search for parts to complete the first one. And now, during the search for more parts for number two I had found a third one. 1928 Chummy which is very far gone and will really be a challenge...What will I find next on this search for parts?

I did want to mention that this site has been my best tool to meet great people, get links, parts, photos and help to make these projects possible. A big thanks to everyone.

Just checked out your site -good work!- Do you think any of the cars were imported by Truly Nolen (as mine was)?

Re: Just finished restoring a 1927 Austin 7 Chummy

John,
The Top Hat Austin, I myself brought over from England in 2003.
#2 Chummy just finished was brought over in 1963 by a Dr Kleber, who had over 400 cars in his collection. All of the cars were in a bad way after years of standing in old barns and buildings in Georgia.
#3 Chummy was brought from N.Carolina, a car dealer had brought it over in the 60's. It was used in his car dealership window, and parades around town. in later years it was left outside. The man we brought it from was the teenager who used to drive it in the parades, and rescued it from a field where the weather had taken its tole, to the state it is in today.
It does make you wonder how many more are out there !
Brian.
