Hi All, just watched the film Privates on Parade, from 1982, in which there is a box saloon, reg KL 650
i wondered if it was the real reg, and if it was still around,

The smallest numbered KL reg. on the chassis register is 1465 and that's on a July 1924 Tourer. KL is a Kent registration starting from 1924. The registration's not shown on the DVLA site either, under Austin.

KL1465 is my 1924 AB Tourer, first registered in Kent on the 5th July 1924.

Perhaps it's a made up reg!

If the original car is circa 1924, then there were not many, IF ANY, Box Saloons around at that time....... OK, the Coupes, but otherwise.

The records for KL are, I understand, still held at Maidstone Archive office, so it could be verified.
