Mk I Ruby rear 1/4 lights

Has anyone gone down the route of replacing the opening rear 1/4 lights on a Mk I Ruby with a fixed pane.

I have several sets of rusted 1/4 light frames, which are beyond salvage & I have a reproduction set of new frames, which are disappointing to say the least and I am thinking along the line of replacing the openers with a permanently fixed glazing in the aperature similar to (dare I say it) a two-door Morris Minor.

I realise that this may mean that the existing glass may not fit but a glazier will be able to cut this to the correct size and that I will need an upstand for the rubber to be fitted to (I would cut down the repro frames).

Has anyone done this? And if so, were they satisfied with the results?

I welcome the Forum's comments on this, thanks.

Gary.
