pre 1924 shock absorbers.

I don't konw if there is any one who could point me in the direction of a pair of "clamp on" type Hartford rear shock absorbers for an early 1923/24 car. I have the mounts and arms but I need to find or copy or look at a set of the claps that mounted around the rear axle tubes as thats the bit that has me foxed. Also I need to find a pre 1926 spare wheel carrier????

Re: pre 1924 shock absorbers.

Lord Hodgson of Worthing,

this is a photo from the '23 AB at Gaydon. It's front shocks are very much "clamped on" affairs so I assumed the back would be too. However, as you can see, they are bolted on so perhaps "bolts" are the answer rather than clamps, unless anyone knows any different??

I have more photos if you want them...

Cheers

R

Re: Re: pre 1924 shock absorbers.

Hello R,
sorry, Wrong end. I've looked at that car every time I've been to the A7CA meeting at Gaydon.
I need the the "CLAMP ON" type shocker that fitted around the rear axle tube. the car you have sent the photo of just has the std bolt on to the spring pin type mount.
Good try though... I give you a big kiss next time I see you.
