Clutch bearing pressure plate 3 spd.

I am a lot in doubt if the radial ( 1,2mm )play betwin thrustbearing race and bearing pressure plate BJ 19. If it normal or have bean lathed off in the past. Mogens

Re: Clutch bearing pressure plate 3 spd.

A pressure plate? do you mean the interface between the cuppy shaped thing on the thrust bearing and the toggles?

If so yes, you need play, because as the clutch wears that play will reduce.

Re: Re: Clutch bearing pressure plate 3 spd.

Yes it is about this cuppy shaped thing, witch is activating the toogles .What I like to know is about interference/or lose fit the smaller end of it shall have in the pressure bearing race. Mogens

Re: Re: Re: Clutch bearing pressure plate 3 spd.

Mogen:

It should have a slight interference fit into the bearing.

Thank you very much.Interference fit was what I presume to be good. Now it has 1,2mm play.So I will lathe a new one. When I saw this "Gearbox dating " I looked at my gearbox no.8735L it might be some years earlyer than engine 128160.
