Re: Amal carb' bits

Chris Dallas may be able to help he runs a pair of Amals on his original unblown Ulster.

Re: Amal carb' bits

These guys are just down the road from me in Cranleigh, they do everything from gaskets to whole carbs.

What type of Amal are you running? Is it on a 7? I was thinking about running 4 Amals on an experimental engine that I am hopefully going to build up.

Re: Amal carb' bits

Tom, go and see Paul Rogers 4xAmal set-up in Chertsey. OK its a Riley, but Wodge is quite a sharp cookie, with a good knowledge and excellent flow-bench if you need it. He is halfway to Edinburgh in the Vauxley tonight! Call him later on Monday? I thought you'd know him already.

Re: Amal carb' bits

David, as above, www.paulrogersengineering.co.uk or 07855769522 and Paul knows his way round A7's. He owns a very early one and built one of mine.

Re: Amal carb' bits

Thank you for those leads, I should own up and mention it is my Brothers 1946 BSA motorcycle that is fitted with an original Amal. I know that I should not sway away from 7's on this forum but it is such an excellant forum for vintage assistance which is so difficult to find elsewhere.
Back to the carb', it is the very early design fitted with the float bowl alongside the main gubbins, I shall have more detail soon.
