I had the pleasure of being Barrie's girlfriend in 1966/67 and remember fondly our time together with "Victoria" his Chummy and later his dalmation "Belinda". We met at Eel Pie Island, in Twickenham and his enthusiasm and love of Austin 7's was contagious! His eccentric Victorian style was unique and his dressmaking skills provided me with many clothes, including a suede mini-skirt not much wider than a belt and a dress made entirely from dishcloths!! Through knowing Barrie, I met my husband, another Austin 7 fan and 45 years later we still run a 1934 four-seat tourer!
