I noticed that my mk1 ruby doesn't have any door check straps attached, when I investigated, I found these bits
It seems mostly self explanatory, but I can't see how the plate attaches to the door. Is it just screwed to the woodwork at the bottom of the door? Which way up does it go? Do they work?
I know this isn't the highest priority for the car but it should stop any more damage to the door skin, prevent the kids trashing other peoples cars, and also stop the bakerlite lock covers getting trashed by the kids using the door chains as handles!
