I suggest you start by putting the old condenser back, as you at least had some measure of performance before it was changed. Its not unknown for "new" ones to be faulty.

Thanks for the suggestions - I put back the old dizzy cap and she started first time, amazing, so happy she has life once more!!

Took her out for a run and she seems to be 'hunting' for fuel in top gear, tick over is perfect as is 1st 2nd and 3rd gear unless under load in top she just will not pull at all.... any ideas???
