Re: Petrol Pump Pointer

I'm intrigued Bob. Am I the only one of the 134 viewers to wonder what a "concrete diaphragm" is ?? !

Re: Petrol Pump Pointer

Hardened beyond use, usually occurring after a long period of inactivity.

Re: Petrol Pump Pointer

Hi John

When a car has been long unused the old flexible fabric layer diaphragms set hard.
The type often do not survive modern petrol anyway, but if unused the diaphragm best flooded with engine oil and the pump sealed in a plastic bag.

Re: Petrol Pump Pointer

Thanks Sandy

I have confirmed that the correct number arm is now fitted.
The car was driven to distant and lonely places and if the arm had slipped off the cam it would have taken ages to fathom and makeshift fix, even if no damage. I carried spare diaphragm only.

There is no end to the things to check.
