Hourglass Steering Fork

Hi

Following experiencing some occasional increase in weighting of the steering on my Ruby (how do people without mechanical sympathies beget on?) I decided to strip the 'box down and clean it up.

I found that whist the spiral on the column has little wear there is a lot of wear on the fork that connects to the drop arm causing it to drop and increase turning resistance - indeed at the road wheel the steering locks up.

I am looking at local steering specialists/engineering companies to build up the fork to replace lost material.

Does anyone have a better idea or solution. I am assuming that a second hand box is likely to be no better.

John
