Car storage

Hi

Does any one store their car outside all the time and found suitable car cover / enclosure, I am guessing it needs to be made to measure due to size of car. Mine is an RTC so convertible.

Thanks

Re: Car storage

If site conditions permit, I'd strongly recommend a framed cover (Google "Folding Garage") rather than a close-fitting cover. I'm thinking of a sort of giant pram hood arrangement - this will allow air circulation and doesn't come into contact with the bodywork.

I'd also make sure that there was some sort of waterproof groundsheet under the car - I've seen a depressing number of vehicles that have been covered and look sound, but have rotted away underneath due to condensation from damp ground.

Re: Car storage

I looked into this and was planning to use a folding 'perambulator garage.
My plan was to bolt one onto a sheet of OSB or plywood so that the weight of the car would hold it down.
They are available in canvas which would be much better for condensation.

Re: Car storage

It would make sense to put it up on a raised platform so that it can never sit in a pool of water either.

Re: Car storage

Hi thanks for the tips. I was looking for something like the canopy Jim suggested but could not find them on the Internet. My drive way also slopes and I presume it is best to store the can on flat ground, I am guessing 10-15 deg.

Pointing down hill sends the oil into the nose cone.
Up hill is this an issue.
Sideways on a hill does this effect the back axle, or would this need to be very steep.

Thanks

Perhaps rather large for a Seven.
