Re: Wiper motor DW3

If you search "Steve Hunt Wiper Motors" his name comes up on a number of car forums where he appears to be well thought of.

Re: Wiper motor DW3

Bruce,

Steve Hunt, mentioned above, has a DW3 6v for sale on ebay now for £95 + carriage. The 'BN' would suggest it was originally for an Austin car, though not sure if definitely a Seven - someone else may be able to confirm if the part no. 731061 BN66 is a Seven wiper - your existing motor will have similar numbers to these stamped on it.

As you'll see from his ebay ad, his contact details are: steve@stevehunt.demon.co.uk 07885 186111

Re: Wiper motor DW3

Hi Jeff,
many thanks for your reply, my non working wiper motor has the same reference numbers on as quoted from the e bay add from Steve Hunt and the pictures seem the same. I assume they are original for a 1938 Mk 2 Ruby

( £95 + postage is steep to a Yorkshire man living in Scotland for the last 30 years or more )

Re: Wiper motor DW3

Thanks Austin,
This is very helpful information, I will have a go and try & fix my existing wiper motor using this guide.
I have already broken into the grandsons piggybank and bought the one on e-bay.

Re: Wiper motor DW3

I've got a DW3 in bits to clean but have never actually operated one! Its nice and small so seems good to use it, but was it ever used on later Nippies?

Could someone please instruct me how it starts and stops before I connect it to power.

The connecting rods and the wiper spindle itself look very short for going through a Nippy screen. Anyoner know if they can they be replaced with longer ones?
