It is unlikely that the flywheel is NOT marked, but anything is possible with A7s!

To find TDC, remove No 1 plug, put your thumb over the plug hole and crank the engine over. As soon as you feel compression, stop cranking. Put a rod in the cylinder, start cranking slowly and note when the rod stops rising. This is TDC.
Mark the flywheel and/or the camshaft pulley.

I personally set the ignition with the lever fully retarded at TDC - as you have a 1929 car I'm assuming that you have a manual advance/retard. the normal recommendation is 1.5 to 2 inches on the flywheel before TDC with the lever fully advanced. I find that setting at TDC fully retarded gives me enough control over the ignition and allows sufficient adjustment when running to "smooth things out".
