Re: Lock washer or Loctite

As a more general rule on lock washers if they were there originally we use them. There's no harm in looking for alternatives, but I tend to go on trusting the original design.

Re: Lock washer or Loctite

I have used blue locktite without locking tabs on my Ruby steering box for the past 6 years with no problems. I have also discarded the lock washers on the little ends and just used locktite again without problems however I have to admitt that I did have slight worries for the first 1000 miles after I had used it.

Re: Lock washer or Loctite

Thanks all

I've helicoiled the studs fitting them (and the helicoil) with Loctite. I managed to find some lock washers in a pile of spares I had forgotten about so I'll use them.

Once again thanks
