The Young Man is Transferred.........(More from Jim McLeish)
Transfer to the Intelligence Corps Eventually we reached Uckfield which was as far as our Movement order took us. On getting out of the train, I was surprised to see the platform crowded with lads in khaki and, also surprising, none of them was moving, very differ...

The Young Man's Training Continues...............
The promised 48-hour pass at the end of the period was another matter. Would I have sufficient money for a return ticket to King's Cross and would the period between the journeys make it all worthwhile? On the other hand, there was no foreseeable alternative; I knew...

Suspicious mind
I noticed a small entry on the Il Piccolo website tonight which started this suspicious mind of mine working. The article under mention stated that thousands of Italians are leaving Italy and going to Albania. |Now why would all those Italians go over to Albania,...

Word
"Word" is expensive because you have to buy "Office". There is, however, a free alternative which woks at least as well - possibly better; it is "Openn Office" published by Apache and can be downloaded free completely safely.

Lo spettacolare tramonto del 23 dicembre a Trieste
Il Piccolo yesterday had several photos of the spectacular sunset on 23rd December. I should guess that this was taken from the Strada Napoleonica.

" Mai più ritornerai, mai più” …….Never again shall I return, never again
I’ll come back to that…....in a while but, as I was reading in bed last night, sipping a drop of Highland Park and water, I came across a reference to the Pen-y-Gwryd Hotel in Snowdonia and my attention became riveted. It historic claim to fame is that it...

BREXIT.
What was that they said about what would happen when we quitted the EU? Economic disaster, foreigners working here would all go home? A posting in the Il Piccolo website today would apparently contradict that. The headline goes: The 'flight' from the Fvg to...

Buskers in Trieste.
