It appears that Ophelia is causing the air over some parts of the country to carry enough Sahara sand to cause this effect. Here we have blue skies and a light breeze.
Down here it was a dirty and sinister orange colour.Very encouraging for those who had been forecasting the end of the world.
It's said, "The female of the species is more deadly than the male". Well Ophelia brought us only a weird-looking sun - but Brian was a b....r. It was supposed to be targeting the South, and the but here it brought torrential rain in short bursts, one of which targeted our home game against some neighbouring rivals, driving many of the "crowd" back inside the club-house.
Still it must have done wonders for the bar receipts.
Here, around the Stockport area we had some very strange coloured skies but no rain neither yesterday nor today.
