I learned, via an email from Guy Thomas, of the sad death of Frank Bishop who served in Trieste in the RASC as chief clerk at G2/GSI, Intelligence HQ run jointly by British and American Intelligence. Guy writes, "He was a great stalwart of the English Church in Trieste although he took Holy Orders only in the 1960s and became a resident vicar at a Church in Hove.. But I do know he was among the first of the BETFOR members".
This photograph shows Frank as best man at the wedding of Alec Anthon:
Frank took Holy Orders in 1960 and became vicar of a church in Hove.
Thanks for the great photo! Frank was a cousin of my grandmother's and the last of their generation in my family. I was last in contact almost 20 years ago and surprised recently to see he was still on the Brighton & Hove electoral roll. I planned to write to him, because his mother Rena was a suffragette and we recently celebrated the 100th anniversary of the right of women to vote. Sadly too late now. He always made clear in his letters he was no old fuddy-duddy and still young at heart.
