Zim Bangkok was renamed Ranginui at Singapore in early August 1994 and departed there on 7 August for Brisbane arriving around 21 August. There she was taken over by a NZ crew and after calls at Sydney and Melbourne, replaced the Rangitikei in SPS's Southern Service.
Ranginui was in port at Auckland on the day of the collapse - 19 February 1998 - and she was arrested there.
