For anything relating to the 44ft Lifeboats

I have my very own 44ft MLB engineer EN3/MKCS William Collette Ret.
who has very kindly agreed to help you with your engineering questions.

I Want to by 30ft MLB

I have just seen and fallen in love with the USCG 30ft MLB (surf rescue boat) built in the early 80s, late 70s. Any info on where to even start to find one would be great. Thank you.

Re: I Want to by 30ft MLB

Interesting choice. I've spent a lot of time on them and can't remember many redeeming quallities. No offence but they were too noisy didn't have much room because of that big ugly engine cover and even though they seemed fast compared to the 44'MLB by todays standards 23 knots isn't all that great. The head was a bucket you sat on then dumped over the side and any other space in the cabin was taken up with gear. On the pluss side I will say that for a plastic boat she was pritty tough.
