The 44 can take waves up to about 25'. But taking waves that big can damage the boat and the crew. Since the 44 is not the fastest boat around (14 Knots), waves sometimes out- run the boat. Probably the best way to take a wave is headon, as opposed to on the side, which will most likely roll the boat.

the 44' will self right due to it's balaast weights, there are 600 pounds forward and 1400 aft. the 44' is supposed to come back over in 11-15 sec, usually another wave is what will bring it back over.
