For anything relating to the 44ft Lifeboats

I have my very own 44ft MLB engineer EN3/MKCS William Collette Ret.

When were the U.S. 44's built?

Does anyone have a list of when the U.S. 44's were built?

Re: When were the U.S. 44's built?

I know the 44'ers began to be built around 1961. The 44384,if I remember right, was built in 1964. All the boats had a brass plaque just below the helm. It had the number, date, etc.. As far as a total list of boat by date, I don't remember ever seeing one, although I'm sure there's one out there somewhere. I'll do some digging for you.

Here is a response I got from the US Coast Guard historian.

"Mr. Lucas,

I am sorry, but we do not have a list of the construction dates of each of the 44-footers. All I can tell you is that they were completed between 7 Jan 1963 and November 1972."
