Fuel consumption

Does anyone remember the fuel consumption of the Detroit Diesel engines at approx. 8 knots?

Re: Fuel consumption

Ray, the fuel consumption on the Detroit's at 8 knots is 4.3 gallons per hour. Increasing to 8.3 knots is 7.1 g/hr and a speed of 8.9 knots give you 9.1 g/hr. I have the fuel curve chart in an Excel spreadsheet if you need it. Jeff

Re: Re: Fuel consumption

Yes, ...I'd love the spreadsheet.

Re: Re: Re: Fuel consumption

I just motored the 44309 from San Diego to Newport. Or in May and my fuel burn was 5 gph at 1450 rpm which is 7.5 to 8.5 knots into NW winds averaging 25 kts. Hope that helps. Bill
