Deballast 44' MLB

Does anyone know if it is possible to safely deballast a 44'MLB to help it travel faster and farther? If the boat isn't used in heavy seas, I thought maybe some of the 2000 pounds could be offloaded and the boat still be safe to use and was wondering what else could be done to increase it's performance.

Re: Deballast 44' MLB

Walker: If by performance you mean increased speed, please remember these are displacement hulls with a theoretical maximum hull speed of approx. 9 knots. They can be pushed harder & faster, but the small gain in speed is hugely offset by loss of fuel economy. Just my $0.02 cents worth!
