Gun control? How about "everything" control? My family enjoys archery. We moved to Colorado a year ago, and guess what? Yes, if we set up a target in the back yard for our archery practice, we are in violation of the law, the cops come into our yard, give us a ticket or arrest us, confiscate our archery equipment for evidence and we go to jail immediately or court later! Guess what a licensed acchery range membership costs? They know the drill, they charge accordingly, and a family can't afford it. You Utah people better hope the anti-everything-personal-weapons Nazi types don't take over your state! But then, if you don't care, just keep your mouths shut and watch what happens. After they get you to relieve everyone else of their weapons, they'll tell you as an afterthought; "Oh, by the way, Mr. Bear... Off duty you're just another unarmed citizen!" "Get involved, or get disarmed!" Good luck, you'll need it.

Sure you are going to have total gun control. As honest citizens become afraid that they are in violation of one of a million gun laws they quit carrying their firearms, especially when away from their home area. At that point, they are tall targets and victims of the criminals who are being ignored by the politicians that secretly or overtly want total gun control. The homeowner quits owning also, afraid that some criminal will break into his home, steal the firearm and government will prosecute homeowner for not "securing" his weapon. (sure, the homeowner gets prosecuted, government has to go after someone, and the lawyers can't get any money out of the criminal so the honest citizen homeowner becomes the target) After enough honest citizens and families are victimized by criminals because citizen is afraid to provide for his own safety, he will demand that government "do something, anything" about "crime". At that point, the individual Constitutional right to self defense melts in the flames of the anti-gun agenda and you have a state or nation where the only "right to self-defense" is given totally to the government, absolutely none of true significance to the people. Policemen, take notice, in this movement you are part of the citizenry, not part of the government except when they want to use you to promote their own power! "Go, cops, go get that bad citizen, he has a weapon!" Yours are scheduled as last to be collected, and you'll then wonder what went wrong.

Yes, we probably will see. Our politicians are the only fools on the planet that believes it is alright to give away military secrets and home-grown high-technology, F-16's and advanced satellite and rocketry technology to the Chinese, free (paid for by our tax dollars) tactical training, weapons and equipment to every other third-world dictator's henchmen... But a private, unregistered, firearm in the hands of every law-abiding citizen is a threat to National Security! Some people wonder if the fat campaign donations from these true enemies of freedom have anything to do with our fatcat politician's activities? Some people wonder why these same politicians, who are gettin fat from secret foreign donations, want to have a list of all our citizens who own firearms. Does that make you wonder also, or are you part of the conspiracy against our freedoms? No reply necessary, whoeverthehell you are, your words speak for you.

OK, well, you westerners, how about this: Last week our governor signed into law the legislation that requires "gun-trigger-locks" and "secure storage". How do your police types read that one, and how will it be enforced? Are they going to go from house to house, checking all the drawers, nooks and crannies for our private guns? And how do you deal with trigger locks and secure storage when the muggers are breaking down your back door or coming through your window at 2-am?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: gun kontrol

Article:
Hello there "no name" OK, to answer your question (this subject was also discussed back up in one of these threads somewhere...) It's a "no-brainer" as to what the police & politicians (read that governors, mayors, prosecutors, chiefs-of-police and any other police ranks appointed by a politician, and any policeman who is subject to those ...), Here's what's going to happen in your fair state since your law was passed: A crook is going to break into your home and steal your firearm. Since you live in a state where all firearms have to be registered, and you're a law-abiding citizen, your firearm's serial numbers are going to be registered to your name. When the crook that stole your weapon holds up a convenience store or goes on a rampage at the local cafe where his girlfriend is secretly dating the cook, and someone gets hurt with your stolen firearm, guess what? The prosecutor can't get any mileage out of merely slapping this three time looser back into the pokey, oh, no! The political mileage will be when they charge you criminally for "failure to secure a firearm" (tsk, tsk, bad citizen!). It's an open and shut case, if you would have had a lock on the weapon, and the weapon in a "secure storage" (which, by the way, must have a definition and product specifications, so yes, the local polizi CAN go to your home to inspect your "secure storage" when you apply for your next permit to own any firearm, or retain your present permit...) it could not have been stolen in the first place, nor used in the crime in the second place, now, could it? Bingo, you're convicted, unless you have a ton of dough, and your attorney is damn good, and your jury is more favorable to the Constitution than it is to the anti-gunners. So, what's next? Also a no-brainer: All the victims sue you, since you were criminally negligent and they or their families suffered damage as a result. Their attorneys don't even ask for their retainers up front, 'cause you've already been convicted and the test for a civil case is vastly less than it is for a criminal case, they'll just take a percentage. When your homeowner's insurance runs out (or was it even in effect, since you're a criminal engaged in the criminal act of failing to keep the crooks from stealing your weapons?)and your savings are all used up for attorneys fees, and your house is mortgaged at 110% of it's worth to pay bills you'll find that the attorneys then file judgements against you that will take everything you have, they will last forever and certainly relieve you of worrying about that new promotion or of getting ahead financially. Also your heirs will not have to worry about settling your estate when you die... The lawyers will own everything you have left.

I won't presume to go into further details of where your fine new law may take your citizens... The possibilities are endless, none of them good!

Does that begin to answer your question, "no name"?
