In your otherwise excellent account of route 230 there is a small inaccuracy. The passenger service to Stanmore did cease in September 1952 and the line closed officially to freight in September 1964. However a passenger service continued to operate between Harrow & Wealdstone and Belmont until 3rd October 1964. Latterly it ran at peak times and on Saturdays until around 1.30pm, Saturday mornings at the time being part of the 5-and-a-half-day working week for many. The Christchurch Avenue overbridge was rebuilt in the late 1950s, the road underneath being lowered and widened at the time.
