I worked at HD gar in the late 1960s first as a conductor and then a driver.The 230 was known as the wall of death because of the tight timings.Things i learnt about bus work....when to run early...when to run late are still with me today.Although i worked mainly on the 140s my last rest day work duty on the 230 was a spreadover shift and i drove RLH59 on my first half and RLH57 on my second part. I went on to drive MBS on route H1 which replaced the 230.I still drive buses in luton for arriva and retire next year....Colin Rutter.....Luton
