Iraq: U.S. forces detain terror suspects
BAGHDAD, May 2 (UPI) --
U.S. forces in Iraq detained 12 terror suspects during raids targeting leaders of al-Qaida and a network for creating improvised explosive devices. In the western province of Anbar, forces working on intelligence leads detained 10 suspects while searching several buildings. The other two suspects tied to an IED cell were arrested in Baghdad. "We're steadily dismantling the al-Qaida network, including the IED network that has been so deadly to the Iraqi people," Lt. Col. Christopher Garver, a U.S. military spokesman said Wednesday in a statement.
