Does anyone know what happened to this project? Is it still happening?

This is totally speculative, but I imagine that if jurys are still interested in building in central cardiff then they are waiting to see what is going on with plans in the area before committing to an exact location. It wasn't so long ago there was a plan to build a convention centre on the same site Jurys had identified, so I'm sure that would make them want to wait and see what happens.

So what you're basically saying is that they're being judicious?

Well let's hope that they reach a unanimous verdict to crack on as soon as possible.

As with my Hampton by Hilton thread wake up I'm curious about this one.

What got me thinking about the Jury's proposed hotel at the old Western Mail printing office site was seeing the pictures of the model last week. I can quite work out if the site for this hotel is in or just outside the proposed Capital Square scheme.

Last I remember was an okay-ish mid-rise was meant to be going up, but then nothing happened other than a new set of plans. They seemed to have been buggering around with plans for a new hotel for years.

Any news? Has the site been purchased by the council as part of the whole Capital Square development ?

My guess would be any plans by the hotel chain would put on hold until the dust settles on what the council wants to do with the area.

And they might not come back.
