Ignition Warning Lamp

How is the lamp holder removed from the dashboard / plate? On the face of the dashplate there is a collar whilst on the opposite side there is a spring loaded arrangement. Both prohibit removal.

On a related topic I have a 6volt, 3 watt screw in bulb mounted in the original Lucas holder with the 30 ohm windings. The bulb works, the wiring to the lamp is good but the lamp does not illuminate. Is the variable voltage the problem here?

All advice greatly apprecisted. Thank you.

Re: Ignition Warning Lamp

With a 30 ohm series resistor a 2.5v 0.2a bulb is required, a 3 watt is to high.

Re: Ignition Warning Lamp

At the top of the "spring loaded arrangement "there is a dished washer , pull that back towards the dash board and you will find a horse shoe clip , pull that off and it will release the light fitment
