VE 561 chassis

Hi all. I sold a 1928/29 rolling chassis with a V5 registered VE 561 back in 1997. The chassis number is 77832 and the reg. no. is non transferable. I believe it was built up as an Ulsteroid. Does anyone know what happened to it and/or it's whereabouts now? Thanks.

Location: Stretham, Ely not London

Re: VE 561 chassis

The DVLA do not have a record of that registration number, so it hasn't been taxed since you sold it. Having messed around on the DVLA site before the records of vehicles long scrapped go back to at least 1984.

Re: VE 561 chassis

Well, mycarcheck.com has a record of VE 561 on their database, listed as an Austin Seven (Tourer) and cartell.ie have it on their database as an Austin Seven - model unknown.

Re: VE 561 chassis

The DVLA database is not to be relied on, one of our Sevens taxed since I returned it to the road in 2001 is not on the public access part of the database. This seems to affect cars which have been returned to the road after a long hibernation.

Thanks for the replies. I shall keep a lookout for it.
