The replacement ship for Golden Bay, Aotearoa Chief departed Jingjiang on 25 October and after a call at Gladstone 8 - 9 November, arrived in Auckland at 0903 14 November 2016. She departed for Portland on 17 November and is in regular service from there to various North Island ports. Her only S.I. port of call is Picton.
Unfortunately, Aotearoa Chief is in full Swire colours, so with the departure of the Golden Bay the yellow Golden Bay Cement funnel disappeared.
