Mishaps:
28 July 2001: Grounded in Manukau Harbour whilst outbound. Refloated about 8 hours later, after giving the locals a wonderful day's entertainment.
16 Aug 2003: Lost rudder on the Manukau bar whilst outbound from Onehunga. Towed clear of the coast by the Onehunga tug Tika. The larger and more powerful New Plymouth tug Rupe arrived on the scene on 18 August and towed her New Plymouth for inspection and then to Lyttelton for repairs, arriving there on 21 August. A new rudder had to be manufactured and she did not re-enter service until 31 October.

Foundered 18 September 2009 off the coast of Libreville, Gabon after engine room flooded. All the crew were rescued.
