I am sorry to report that my father in law, Charles William Murrin, passed away 30th November 2022 after a short illness.

He talked often of his service on Vangeance and HMS Comus.

My grandpa (Alasdair Fraser) served on HMS Vengeance and appears in the care lists “Lofty”. Today is the 75th anniversary of VJ Day and I have been going through his photographs, newspapers and notes from his time aboard. What a wonderful website to visit and be reminded of all who served. Thank you!

Sorry but point of family honour , Vengeance was captained by Capt. B H Smith from outset of WW1 until after Gallipoli campaign, not the officer you list .

Really enjoyed browsing the site. Wanted to find more about my wife\'s Uncle - George Warner HURREN - who we think was a Petty Officer on the Vengeance.
Unfortunately he is at present not listed in the crew so I have filled in the relevant form. I have in my possession many photographs - quite a lot are on site , but also some additional ones that must be of interest to someone.I will have to return to the site,Keith Talbot.

Hi, my father served on HMS Vengeance and I have a collection of photographs of Seafires on deck waiting for take off and landing, some that didn\'t make it. How can I upload them to this website for others to view.

I served on HMS Vengeance as a Shipwright from 1951 to 1953 ,joining at Plymouth where it was pioneering night flying,winning the Bourne trophy, then converted to troop ship taking troops and equipment to theFar East,after its last trip it was refitted in Devonport Dockyard,back to aircraft carrier. When loaned to the Royal Australian Navy I remained on board attached to the RNA to assist with the refit. I was then drafted to HMSDolphin. I later served on HMS Centaur for 3years 3months, and later to Culdrose Naval Air Station.
